Who Am I?
By profession, I have been a part of the aviation industry for 12 years. Photography, taken up as a hobby during this time with a point-and-shoot camera, has taken me on a journey of adventure and learning.
In 2013, with my Nikon gear, I started my photography journey through the wilderness of Sri Lanka, the most beautiful ethnic island in the Indian Ocean. As time went by, I had the privilege to learn from two experts: new techniques of photography from veterans and beautifully mysterious behavioral patterns from the Sri Lankan wild. I have spent many hours and days in sanctuaries, forests, and wetlands waiting to capture the perfect shot and have many times returned empty-handed. Regardless, photography has been a meditative diversion that has always managed to bring peace and calm amid the chaos of daily life.
I achieved the EFIAP/b distinction from The Federation of International Art of Photography – France, GPU Crown 02 from Global Photographic Union-Greece, cMOL from Master of Light – Canada, GPA.PESGSPC and Hon.PESGSPC – Cyprus, ANAPSL – Sri Lanka and SE.SSP – Sri Lanka.
Working so closely with nature, I have understood the beauty of it so underrated and unrecognized by us, and the exploitation we, as humans, put it through, and I am even more motivated to use my platform as a wildlife photographer to bring these unseen wonders into the public eye.
